Review of the tastecard App

Tastecard review – with a top GreatDealsMadeEasy deal

940 788 Great Deals Made Easy

In this post, I review my experience with the Tastecard membership, to find out if it is honestly worth signing up for. It’s renowned as the card that gets you 2 for 1 or 50% off your meals. I cover the tastecard restaurants available, what the tastecard plus offers, the tastecard experience, the tastecard App review and a real-life tastecard eating experience with my dad. Plus I’ve bagged a Tastecard Special Offer 90 day free trial for GreatDealsMadeEasy readers to test out for yourself.

About Tastecard Offers

Over 3.7 million people use the app with over 6,500 restaurants participating across the UK. According to the site the average saving is £18.88 per meal (which isn’t bad) and the main age is 24 – 35 who use it.  The cost is £39.99 a year annual subscription (once the 90-day free trial is over). Spread that cost over 15 months and you are paying £2.67 a month (including the GreatDealsMadeEasy offer). All memberships come with Tastcard Plus which includes up to 40% off all cinemas, up to 55% off days out and more.

What are the Tastecard restaurants?

The tastecard restaurants include popular restaurants include Beefeater, Pizza Express, Café Rouge, Joe’s Kitchen, Frankie and Benny’s, Prezzo, Zizzi’s, Belgo and Yo Sushi. There are also quite a few local independents covering Italian, British, Indian, modern European, French and Thai food. The availability is for deals from Sunday to Monday (Albeit check the terms and conditions as some restaurants only have Sunday to Thursday).

Tastecard App review

The app is quite easy to navigate around. Once you’ve signed up, you just need to download the App and add your name, email and membership number. Then you have two categories: Discover (covering tastecard restaurants) and Plus (Tastecard attractions, tastecard cinemas and more). CityAM likes the Tastecard as it attracts more customers to restaurants — which they desperately need, especially during the current sector downturn.

Things I like:
-Under the discover section, once you add in your area, you can easily filter by your favourite type of restaurant and whether you are looking for 50% off or 2 for 1 discount.
-The App is quite simple in its layout, which makes it easy to navigate around.
-Once you click on the restaurant, the app syncs with Google maps, to make it easy to get to your location.
-There are some really good 2 for 1 restaurants discounts and the majority of cinema outlets are covered by the 40% discount.
Development areas:
-I would say the App could be quicker,  particular in the Plus category, you wait a while for loading up the offers.
-The app doesn’t appear to offer many discounts for a singles person looking for 50% off, unless you like Domino Pizza (not so healthy). I sense the Tastecard is more for social meals out with friends and family than a meal for one saving (unless you have a huge appetite).

Is it worth it? Will from GreatDealsMadeEasy reviews the Tastecard App

Is the Tastecard worth it?

If you rarely go out ever to restaurants *say once/twice a year, you cook at home a lot for the family and you go to the Cinema just once a year, I’d say leave it. The membership of £39.99 could not make back the saving on just those two outings alone. However, if you eat out 3+ times a year at popular restaurants and/or you are an avid cinema-goer, I’d say go for it – you will save money.  It’s also good if you are looking for day trips to see in the UK with the family. Regardless, I’d say give it a try with a free three-month trial here (make a note of the expiry date in case you barely use it, you can cancel it and you won’t get charged).

Tastecard review from my personal experience

I popped up to Soho, London with my dad for a whiskey tasting tour as a birthday present.  After a few drams (and more) of Scottish whiskey in Soho, I used the App and found a nearby Tastecard restaurant Belgo opposite the pub, offering a 2 for 1 meal. After a tasty meal, I presented the app and we got £15 off the menu, making it a lot more affordable for the pocket. Had I had a full paid membership, essentially another 2 meals that year and the savings would be in the positive. Because I couldn’t be happier about the price I paid, my Tastecard review can’t be anything else than positive.

GreatDealsMadeEasy has a bagged deal for a free tastecard 90-day free membership here (which you can cancel if you don’t use for no cost before three months are up).
