My idea to review the new Airtime Rewards app came only after noticing the money-saving blogging community recommendation. So I thought I’d and give it try and let you know if it is worth it.
Firstly what is it?
Airtime Rewards is an app that lets your favorite retailers pay for your smartphone bill by automatically rewarding you discounts for shopping at high street brands. It is similar to cashback sites like TopCashBack and Quidco, yet you don’t have to manually select a company from the site, it is all done automatically which saves time.
Say you buy a Flat White coffee at Caffe Nero costing £2.80 with your debit card. Once you have signed up, you get 5% back *that’s 14p back towards your next mobile phone bill. Not bad for not doing nothing.
Which Airtime Rewards Retailers have signed up?
Airtime Rewards’ average review on Trustpilot is 4.8. The app covers brands such as Waitrose, Morrison’s, TopShop, Argos, Halfords, Primark, Caffé Nero, Pizza Express and more. The app has teamed up with over 80 high street retailers. The cashback rates range from 2-10% – with Morrison on 10% currently.
What are the steps?
First Step – Download the App (it’s free) for iOs or Android.
Second step – Register your card – any Visa or Mastercard. I used my main debit Visa card. This way the app knows you are spending.
Third Step – Spend with retailers – Use your linked cards, in-store or online and the cashback is added to your Airtime Rewards balance
Last Step – Expect to wait 14 days and wait until you hit a threshold of £10. You can then redeem money off your mobile phone bill by selecting your network on the drop-down menu, voila money off your mobile phone bill
According to the site, it is available on three, Vodaphone, 02, EE and Giffgaff mobile networks.
Promotion – If you join up and use PQU98BNA and we will both a free £1 bonus
(if you spend within 7 days) or 50p cashback beyond that.
